Lesson Plan for a Grade 6 Class: Introducing Yourself in Spanish

Objective

At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to introduce themselves in Spanish.

Materials

Whiteboard, markers, paper, pencils.

Time

This lesson will be completed in 30 minutes.

Lesson Plan & Flow

  1. Introduction (5 minutes): The teacher will introduce the lesson topic and explain why it is important to introduce yourself in Spanish.

  2. Brainstorm (5 minutes): The teacher will ask students what they need to introduce themselves. The teacher will write students’ responses on the board (name, age, where they’re from, etc.).

  3. Practice (10 minutes): The teacher will provide students with a worksheet with sentences in Spanish that they can complete with their own information. The teacher will walk around the room and provide assistance if needed.

  4. Group Activity (5 minutes): The teacher will divide students into groups of three and assign each group a topic to present. The topics will include: name, age, where they’re from, family, hobbies, etc.

  5. Presentation (5 minutes): Students will present their topics in Spanish to the class. The teacher will provide feedback.

  6. Wrap-up (5 minutes): The teacher will review the lesson and ask students to share what they learned.
