What to Include
A new employee’s checklist must include the following the information:
- Knowing the person that he or she is needed to directly report to. It may be the supervisor of the department or the Manager of the division, and on some instances, both of them.
- Performance appraisal review.
- Guides on the work terms and conditions.
- Review of all that is in the employment contract.
- The objectives, goals, vision, and mission of the company.
- Terms of the employment duration.
- The policies that are needed to be followed and the corresponding terms should they not be taken in consideration.
- Being able to do rounds within the facility for workplace familiarization.
- Knowing the uniforms and how they define the roles of each department, should there be any.
- Rules and regulations of the company.
- Safety and security plan of the building.
- Emergency response items and procedures by the company.
- The workplace guidelines especially on the station where the person is going to work at.
- Proper work clothes and etiquette.
- Review of specific tasks needed to be done by the new employee.
- Training days memorandum.
Usually, a new hire signs a document which states that he or she has attended the orientation and has already been taught of the things that he or she needs to do or know.
