How to Make an ID Card
1. Getting started with Publisher: If you’re going to use Microsoft Publisher to make your ID cards, then you’ll need to install the program first. If you already have it or if you’re done installing it on your computer, then be sure to do the following:
- Click File > New and choose Built-in so that you can use any of the available templates.
- Go to the Business Cards catalog that’s under Installed Templates and then choose the design that you want.

- Select both your ID card’s color scheme and font scheme.
- Click the drop-down menu under Business Information and click Create New.
- In the Create New Business Information Set dialog box, enter the needed information in the different fields.

- From the options, select the Page size. This can either be in portrait or landscape.
- If you want to include the logo, then simply check Include Logo.
- Click, Create.
3. Creating a two-sided business card: If you want to put more information into your employee’s ID cards, then you’ll want it to be two-sided. If you’re going to make two-sided ID cards, then here’s what you’ll need to do:
- Complete the steps above.
- In the Pages navigation pane, right-click the existing page and then click on Insert Page.
- In the Insert Page dialog box, click After Current Page, and then you may select any of the options you want.
- Add all the information that you want to put into the back of the ID card.
- If everything looks the way that you want it to, then simply save the file.
