Create a Lesson Plan in 5 Easy Steps

Step 1: Name your Objective

Step 2: Know your Students

It is necessary that you know who you are dealing with. Know your student’s needs and talents, so that you can meet them. This will help them keep their concentration intact in class and not wander outside. Observe their abilities and capabilities, their strengths and weaknesses and be supportive of their learning techniques. Do not criticize them.

Step 3: Techniques in Teaching

Make a list of all possible techniques and methods you can own to teach the students all the concepts in a different, but fun manner. Nobody likes to sit in a class that is nothing but boring, so make your class as positive and fun as possible, talk to the students, so they know what it is that you want to achieve and what should they do to understand your classes better. Give them worksheets, assignments, etc. regularly.

Step 4: List Out the Materials

Jot down all the required materials and resources for you to teach the class. The materials required for activities in the class need to be present during the activity. Try to make the class fun learning ones and make the students comfortable around you.

Step 5: Assessment and Evaluation

Allow the students to explore their boundaries of knowledge. Help them if they need your help in learning any concept. Make quick assessments and evaluate them on a regular basis, so that they will also know where do they need to put in more effort to understand your subject better. Talk to their parents regularly, to keep them updated about what and how is the child performing in class.
