8+ Life Planner Templates
Most often than not, we think ahead of ourselves and overestimate what we can and can’t do. Who doesn’t want to accomplish everything and do them with flying colors? Who doesn’t want to have the perfect body, a flourishing career or a front yard with white picket fences in the suburbs? But contrary to what you’ve heard, the best things in life aren’t free. You have to work for them. You have to have a plan. So plan your life properly by keeping a life planner.
5 Steps to Keep a Life Planner
Step 1: Be consistent.
Like most people, this may not be the first time you’ve decided to keep a planner. Maybe you have notebooks and journals piling up to collect dust in your storage boxes or drawers. If you’re serious about planning your life, from here onwards, you need to be consistent in filling up the pages or sections of your planner.
Step 2: List your goals.
You obviously have goals. All of us do. it’s just that some people are more motivated and organized. You can practice the same thing. With the help of a planner, it won’t be so difficult. Start listing your aspirations or the things you want to do. Write down your goals by order of priority and cross out your list as you go along.
Step 3: Plan your day.
What do you want to do for the day? Set goals for finishing pending tasks to actually accomplish something. Write down your scheduled afternoon meeting. Before starting your day, check what errands you need to do. Writing down the things you want to accomplish will help you manage your tasks so you will have enough time for more.
Step 4: Celebrate accomplishments.
You’ll only be able to appreciate the purpose of keeping a life planner if you include the things that inspire and motivates you to do better. If having a planner feels forced, then it defeats the whole purpose of organizing and being more focused. Make room for errors and allow yourself to celebrate even the smallest accomplishments.
Step 5: Set deadlines.
What’s the use of having a planner if you don’t decide on the time you’ll get things done? Failure comes from too much slacking and you don’t want that. Set a realistic deadline for goals, projects and tasks. Set proper expectations for results and make sure to commit to your deadlines.
