2. Daily Maintenance Plan
These are activities and things that you identify that help you stay well every day. To develop the daily maintenance plan, you simply need to describe yourself when you are feeling well, and list the things you need to do every day to maintain that wellness. This section usually involves three parts:
- the description of what you are like when you are well
- the things you need to do every day to remain well
- the things you can sometimes do to help you stay well
1. Triggers and Action Plan – These are events or stuff that can make you feel bad if they happen. These things are usually external and can happen outside of your control. The action plan that relates to your triggers is the action plan that allows you to think of how you are going to respond to those triggers before they happen. 2. Early Warning Signs and Action Plan – The next section of your WRAP is the sample list of your early warning signs. These are internal yet subtle signs that alarm you of the fact that you may need to take further action. It is a precursor of things getting worse as you are noticing, feeling and acting in a way that is not normal for you. 3. When Things Are Breaking Down & Action Plan – These section indicates and describes things that help you identify that you are out of the early warning signs and that your downward spiral has begun. This usually is a list of symptoms that you have experienced in the past and are an indicator that you are feeling much worse. Examples of the symptoms can include feeling sad all the time or hearing voices in your head. 4. Crisis Plan – These are the symptoms that indicate that you can no longer continue to make decisions to take care of yourself or even keep yourself safe. To create this plan, it is important to identify signs that let others know that you need their help in caring for yourself and making decisions. It is crucial to outline who your supporters are and what they can do to help you. This sample outline should be clear, legible, and easy to understand. It is advisable to provide a copy of this plan to your supporters ahead of time. They can even give you input on other things that you did not notice or realize about yourself. 5. Post Crisis Plan – You can develop this plan when you are beginning the healing process. As such, this section is constantly changing and evolving. It is advisable to develop this slowly. Do the same in resuming your responsibilities. Quickly assuming that you are well and passed a crisis is a bad thing and you might find yourself back in crisis mode if you do. Develop this printable plan as you begin to recover from a crisis when you have a clearer picture of the things you need for yourself to get well.
