4. Insights: There are two broad categories of insights that you need to put in your fact sheet. Steps to Make a Great Company Fact Sheet

Your fact sheet is divided into three main parts: the header, the body, and the footer. The following steps details on the processes involved in making each part including their sub-parts.

Additional note: Your company fact sheet should only span for a single page, so as you build each component and sub-component, only put in relevant information and make use of the basics of a layout to compress and compartmentalize each block of details.

1. Header: The header is the title of your company fact sheet. It sets a general direction for the flow of your information. As a start, type in your basic company details which are your company name, business address, phone number, email address, and website. This group is set at the topmost part of your fact sheet. In an area directly below your first group of information, provide the remaining basic details about your company. This includes your company size, the industry you are in, and your year of establishment.

2. Body: All the information you have set up in your header are all for the purpose of giving context for the readers to understand the main meat of your company fact sheet, and it is composed of the following:

  • Vision and Mission: You don’t need to state the entirety of your company’s mission and vision. Most often times, companies even summarize it as a company slogan. As long as the essence is still apparent, compress these two parts so you can save space.
  • Products and Services: More than simply indicating what products and services you offer, tell how your brand benefits your customers. Enumerate your advantages over the competition, highlight your top products, and utilize charts and graphs to show metrics.
  • Business Insights: This is basically where you will tell your company’s major milestones in sales, expansion, and funding. Your business insight section is best presented through bullet points.
  • Customer Insights: Your customer insight comprises your target market description—customer’s demographic— and an overview of the ecosystem of the industry where your company stands.

3. Footer: Your footer serves as an epilogue of your fact sheet. It provides additional, but nevertheless important, information about your company. It is also in this part where you will establish your call to action element.

  • Organizational details: Introduce your team starting with your executives down to your entry-level employees. However, this is only applicable to small businesses. If you have a large company, then it is best to only give an overview of the structure of your organization.
  • Call to action: Enumerate the different contact information your readers can use to keep in touch with you. Don’t forget to include your social media handles as these are the fastest modes of communication especially during this digital age.

Tips for a Great Company Fact Sheet

  • Invest in your visuals: Nothing screams of boring more than just a page littered with words. Include infographics, process charts, photos and any other visual elements that will help you present your information clearer and more engaging.
  • Limit the use of jargon: One purpose of the fact sheet is to let people know about your company at a glance. Aside from simplifying your business concept into short bullets, you also need to take caution in getting too technical with your terms that you are already flooding it with jargons. Only make use of jargons to highlight sufficient facts and nudge the curiosity of your readers to know more about your company.
