Step 1: Make a New Document

So the first column you need to make in the tracking sheet is a column to input the days of the week. To do this, select a cell in the spreadsheet and write ‘Monday’ in it. Then click the cell and drag it down to fill the following cells with the names of the rest of the days.

Step 4: Create the ‘Hours’ Column

There are three types of columns that can be added to the tracking sheet for hours. These include the ‘Hours’ column for the number of hours worked by the intern, ‘Overtime’ for any overtime work done, and ‘Sick Pay’ for hours that the intern could not work. You can add more columns if you want.

Step 5: Add Hourly Rate and Total Hours

More sections need to be added to the tracking sheet regarding the total number of hours worked, the hourly rate to be provided to the intern and the total number of hours worked by the intern. You can also include another section to input the gross pay of the intern if the internship is a paid one.

Step 6: Customize It If Needed

Once you made the tracking sheet, you need to customize it and keep updating it. To customize it, you can use bold text for the headings. You can also provide different colors to the background of the different columns to make them easily distinguishable. Once you have customized the sheet, you will have your tracking sheet ready for use.
