Just think, without electricity, you wouldn’t have the capacity to make the most of your day-to-day tasks and activities! It would be such an awful experience to nearly everybody. But fortunately, electricity does exist, and it permits us to appreciate life in so many ways.
Since electricity is a natural force that exists in our reality, it didn’t need to be invented. It did nonetheless need to be discovered and understood. Most people give credit to Benjamin Franklin for discovering electricity in his kite flying experiment. Electricity powers our homes, offices, and industries; it also provides us with communications, entertainment, medical services; it powers computers, gadgets and devices, and the Internet; and in today’s generation, electricity is capable of running various forms of transportation.

A Source of Energy We Can Trust
Clearly, electricity is a critical commodity we underestimate. We hardly think about it, except those times when we don’t have it. Luckily, no matter what, electricity is present for us whenever we flip the switch. Not only is electricity the cleanest, most adaptable, and most controllable form of energy, its flexibility is also unparalleled.
In addition to giving reliable electricity to our homes and offices, electric power industries are strong supporters of local economic advancement efforts in so many communities around the world. They add to the growth, strength, and steadiness of these communities through paying tax revenues, by giving a job to hundreds and thousands of people, and by giving a variety of public service programs that address the local needs of the communities that they serve.
What Is Electricity?
Electricity is a type of energy fueled by the movement of electrons from positive and negative points inside a conductive material or surface. Electricity is generally utilized for giving power to structures, electrical gadgets or devices, and even some cars nowadays. Various people can be noted for the development of electricity, yet the most recognized person is Benjamin Franklin and his “flying kite” experiment. Through this test, he was able to confirm that lightning was a form of electricity.
The Phenomenon of Electricity
Together with magnetism, electricity is part of a single phenomenon called electromagnetism. There are also other phenomena all related to electricity, including lightning, static electricity, electric heating, electric discharges, and many more.
Lightning
It is a phenomenon in which there is a sudden electrostatic discharge occurring during a thunder storm. There are three classifications of lightning: (1) the IC or intra-cloud lightning which occurs between electrically charged regions of the same cloud, (2) the CC lightning which occurs between two different clouds, and (3) the CG lightning which occurs between the cloud and the ground. Lightning causes light in the form of plasma and sound in the form of thunder. It may only be visible and not audible if the lightning occurs at a distance too far for the sound to carry as the light from the flash.
Static Electricity
It is when there is an imbalance of electrical charges within or on the surface of a material. Unlike current electricity in which it flows through conductors to transmit energy, the charge in static electricity stays in one point until it is able to move away through electrical discharges. Static electricity is created when two surfaces, with one having a higher resistance to electric current, make contact and then separate.
Electric Heating
It is the phenomenon where electrical energy is converted to heat. One common electric device which converts current to heat is the electric heater, wherein the heating element inside is an electrical resistor and works when an electric current passes through a resistor, which will then be converted to heat energy. Most electric heating devices today use nichrome as the active heating element.
Electric Discharge
Unlike the other phenomena, this one is broad and is simply defined as any flow of electric charge through matter.
How Beneficial Are Electric Companies?
The electric power industry is one of the richest industries and provides the lifeblood of the economy, the vital service needed in modern life. It is the industry which provides the most common and sought-after form of energy known to man—electricity.
The electric power industry plays a critical role in our society on so many levels. It helps in building economic growth and productivity; it promotes business development and expansion; and it provides stable work opportunities to people. It is a solid industry that still continues to contribute to the progress and prosperity of our society.
Electricity must be produced by the company when customers demand for it. Because electricity can not be stored easily, electric companies and other suppliers must have sufficient generation facilities available to meet the maximum demands on their systems.
To ensure that there is enough electricity available for the industry to meet the customer’s demands, some power plants work ’round the clock, allowing electric companies and other suppliers to generate a constant supply of electricity that would equal to the demand of their customers. Common sources used by electric companies to continuously provide power include coal-based, hydro, or nuclear power because these are cost-effective when running for prolonged periods.

What Is a logo?
A logo is more than just a graphic image. It is the foundation for your business. Most successful businesses focus their branding around their logo, just like a mascot for sports teams. A business should make sure that when a client will be able to associate a certain product with its respective owner through the presence of the logo.
Businesses have their own logo to make themselves recognizable. Every time you see a company or any of their products, the design of the logo reflects with the company’s name, brand, and purpose. It is always advisable to design the logo in a way that it will perfectly align to the nature of the business since it will become a large part in the company’s identity.
There are, however, many businesses that take the power of logos for granted, leading to their business becoming easily forgettable in the near future. People are extremely visual beings, and it is vital to associate your business and brand to a logo that the customers will know and respect.
Logo versus Identity versus Branding
The terms logo, identity, and brand can be quite hard to distinguish. They have different meanings, yet these terms are generally used interchangeably.
Logo
The term logo is derived from the Greek word, logotype. Logos means “word” and typos means “imprint.” The logo’s primary purpose is to promote public acknowledgment. As such, it is a crucial piece of being an identity and brand since people learn and remember easily when they are able to see it. Individuals see the visual mark and recognize its color, shape, and form.
Preferably, the logo will move toward becoming related with the brand. A logo most usually comprises of an image or symbol along with words, and it can also be a logotype, which is a logo that is purely words and no images. In some instances, brands turn out to be so notable that their logo can already be recognized even if it holds only the image with no distinguishing words.
Identity
Sometimes referred to as visual identity, identity is a bundle of visual tools that an organization uses to convey the brand. For example are graphic symbolism, a color framework, font types, and a logo.
Branding
A brand is quite difficult to define. One would define it as a set of expectations, memories, relationships that, when taken together, account for a client’s decision to choose one product or service over another.
What Is the Importance of a Logo?
With everything said, we know that logos could make or break a company. A logo is oftentimes the center of a company (think of Nike without its check mark), a logo oftentimes means stability and reliabilty (think of CAT heavy machinery), or sometimes evokes nostalgia in all of us (the Playstation logo is one good example). But why are logos important? Here we discuss why.
Logos Build the Identity of a Business
Generally, there are cases in which a person won’t be able to easily remember a company’s full name and the description of the business without the presence of a logo. It should be noted that since the human mind has its limits, something should be done for people to recognize your business easily. Which means it would be important for a business to build a logo that defines their business and gives it a recognizable image.
Logos Can Help in Enhancing the Brand
Every business aims to make it big in the industry, and a very important factor is having a recognizable logo. One way to easily identify a product is through its logo. In the process of building a business, it is very important to build a brand, and this will become even easier with a logo. The logo helps boost the brand that it represents, which confirms that logos really do matter.
Logos Make Advertising Easier
It plays a very important role in the process of advertisement. In reality, the first thing that catches the people’s attention when entering a mall or a restaurant is the logo. You can never expect the public to read everything that’s written on posters or billboards especially if they are driving or are crossing the road. In these cases, you logo will be sufficient enough. Thus, a logo makes your advertising process easier and still impressive.

Tips to Conserve Electricity?
- Dress appropriately according to the weather. Layering clothes can help in keeping you warm during winter so you can turn the heater down. On the other hand, especially during summer, wearing light-colored and cotton-made clothes can help in cooling us down, and we can use the fan instead of the air conditioner.
- Keeping the doors shut and the curtains closed can maintain the temperature of the room so you won’t need to put your fan or heater on the highest setting.
- Turn off appliances when not in use. It is also advisable to disconnect these appliances when leaving the house.
- One of the most expensive and power-hoarding appliances is the refrigerator since it is always turned on ’round the clock. To be able to conserve energy, you should see to it that the door is sealed tight to prevent cold air from leaking out.
- Replacing old light bulbs with energy-efficient ones may be a minor adjustment but will go a long way in the future since these light bulbs consume far less electricity than old ones.
