Session Focus
The focus of the therapy session with Ms. Aisha Khan was primarily to address her concerns around work-related stress and how it's impacting her personal life. Aisha expressed feelings of overwhelm and a sense of constantly being 'on edge'. In addition, she reported feelings of anxiety and difficulty in managing work-life balance.
Interventions
The session incorporated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions to manage stress. We discussed various stress management techniques including deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness, and visual imagery. Also, we worked on identifying and challenging negative thoughts and unhelpful patterns of thinking using thought records.
Client Response
Aisha was receptive and participative during the session. She noticeably calmed during deep breathing exercises and showed an understanding of the interventions discussed. She recognized her negative thought patterns and showed willingness to challenge them moving forward. Throughout the session, it was evident she was engaged in the Patient Therapy process.
Progress
Aisha has made significant progress since the beginning of therapy sessions. She has developed an understanding of her stress triggers, has a better hold over her emotions, and has started to employ stress management strategies. Aisha has been consistent with her homework assignments, with positive feedback on their usefulness.
Follow-up Plan
A follow-up session is scheduled for next week to review Aisha's use of stress management techniques and thought records. The plan is to continue to build resilience and develop further coping strategies, with a particular focus on creating a healthier work-life balance.
