Time: 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Client ID: ES452203
Session Type: Individual Psychotherapy
Key Topics
During the session, Ms. Smith expressed feelings of overwhelm due to recent work-related stressors and her ongoing struggle with anxiety. She mentioned a recent project at work that has been causing sleepless nights. Her performance at work is affecting her self-esteem and overall well-being. She also discussed that she's been having problems with her relationship due to these issues.
Assessment
Ms. Smith demonstrates symptoms of moderate to severe generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). This disorder impacts her daily life, including her ability to maintain a balanced lifestyle and establish meaningful relationships. Ms. Smith reported that she feels a loss of control over her life, which seems to exacerbate her anxiety symptoms.
Interventions
I used techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in our session, focusing on identifying and challenging thought patterns that contribute to Ms. Smith's feelings of anxiety. We discussed various potential coping strategies, including meditation, regular exercise, establishing a regular sleep pattern, and management of work pressures. In addition, mindfulness exercises have been recommended to assist Ms. Smith in managing her symptoms of anxiety.
Plan
Ms. Smith agreed to continue to work on grounding techniques to help manage her symptoms of anxiety outside of our sessions. I have encouraged her to reach out to her support system to discuss the challenges she is facing. Additionally, we will continue to meet weekly for her individual Clinical Therapy sessions as we have been doing. In our next session, we will further explore her work-related stress and her relationship concerns.
