EMPLOYEE POTENTIAL MATRIX


This matrix is designed to evaluate employees based on their current performance and their potential for future growth and development. It helps in identifying individuals who may benefit from additional training, mentoring, or advancement opportunities.

The matrix consists of two axes:

Current Performance

High Performers (HP)

Employees who consistently exceed performance expectations and deliver exceptional results.

Solid Performers (SP)

Employees who meet performance expectations consistently and contribute effectively to their roles.

Underperformers (UP)

Employees who struggle to meet performance expectations and may require improvement plans or support.

Potential For Growth

High Potential (HP)

Employees who exhibit strong potential for growth, leadership, and advancement within the organization. They are likely candidates for leadership development programs.

Moderate Potential (MP)

Employees with potential for growth but may need some additional development to reach their full potential.

Limited Potential (LP)

Employees with limited potential for advancement, typically suited for their current roles without significant career progression.

Employee Categories

Based on the intersection of Current Performance and Potential for Growth, employees can be categorized into the following groups:

Stars (HP-HP)

These employees are high performers with high growth potential. They are prime candidates for leadership roles and should be nurtured for future leadership positions.

Develop (UP-MP)

Employees in this category are underperforming in their current roles but show moderate potential for growth. They may benefit from focused development plans to improve their skills and performance.

Maintain (SP-MP)

Solid performers with moderate growth potential may need occasional skill development to prepare them for future challenges or responsibilities.

Leaders (HP-SP)

These are high performers who consistently meet expectations. While they may not have high potential for further growth, they are valuable employees and can be considered for leadership roles when needed.

Steady (SP-SP)

Employees in this category are solid performers with no immediate indication of high potential or underperformance. They provide stability to the organization.

Improve (UP-LP)

These employees are underperformers with limited potential. Organizations may consider performance improvement plans, reassignment, or alternative solutions.

Transition (UP-HP)

Employees who are currently underperforming but show high potential for growth. Special attention and development plans should be put in place to harness their potential.

Basic (LP-LP)

Employees with limited potential and limited current performance. Their roles may need to be reevaluated to determine if they are the right fit for the organization.
