JOB TITLE: ASTHMA EDUCATOR
Job Summary/Objective
The Asthma Educator is tasked to dispense valuable educational resources regarding asthma management to patients and their families. He or she conducts assessments, observes and demonstrates select procedures in asthma care, identifies environmental modifications, and discusses the educational needs of the patients and their families, while also dealing diligently with organizational issues related to the asthma care program.
Responsibilities and Duties

Evaluating patients' needs and creating tailored educational plans to improve their knowledge and self-management skills with regard to asthma.

Observing, demonstrating, and training patients in specific procedures for managing asthma.

Identifying behavioral adjustments and environmental modifications necessary for effective asthma management.

Advocating for the needs of patients within the organization, working towards continual enhancement of the asthma care program.

Creating and maintaining comprehensive reports on patient educational needs, behavioral modifications, and asthma management strategies employed.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with a valid state license to practice. An additional certification as an Asthma Educator is a must. A minimum work experience of 5 years in a similar role is desired.
