Flooring Installation Contract

This Flooring Installation Contract ("Contract") is entered into on [Date] between [Your Company Name], located at [Your Company Address] ("Contractor") and [Client's Name], located at [Client's Address] ("Client").

I. Scope of Work

1.1 Contractor agrees to provide flooring installation services for the following areas:

  • Living Room

  • Kitchen

  • Bedrooms

  • Hallways

1.2 Contractor shall perform all necessary tasks related to the installation, including but not limited to:

  • Preparation of the subfloor: Checking for levelness, removing any existing flooring or debris, and ensuring a smooth surface.

  • Installation of underlayment: Installing a moisture barrier or padding to provide cushioning and soundproofing.

  • Laying of flooring material: Installing the hardwood oak flooring according to manufacturer guidelines, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.

  • Cleanup: Removing all installation debris, vacuuming and sweeping the newly installed flooring, and leaving the area clean and tidy.

II. Timeline

The project shall commence on [Start Date] and is expected to be completed by [Completion Date], subject to reasonable delays due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather or material shortages. The contractor shall provide the Client with weekly updates on the progress of the project, including milestones achieved and any issues encountered. Updates shall be provided via email or phone call every Friday by 5:00 PM, starting from [Date]

III. Materials and Equipment

The contractor shall provide all necessary materials, tools, and equipment required for the installation, including but not limited to:

  • Hardwood oak flooring: High-quality oak planks with a thickness of 3/4 inch and a width of 5 inches.

  • Moisture barrier underlayment: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) moisture barrier to prevent moisture from reaching the flooring.

  • Flooring adhesive: Premium-grade adhesive suitable for hardwood flooring installation.

  • Nails and fasteners: Stainless steel nails and fasteners for securing the flooring.

  • Floor sander and edger: Professional-grade floor sanding equipment for preparing the subfloor.

  • Leveling compound: Self-leveling compound for correcting uneven subfloors.

  • Floor finish: Polyurethane floor finish for protecting and enhancing the appearance of the hardwood flooring.

Any specific brand or type of flooring material requested by the Client must be approved by the Contractor in advance to ensure compatibility with the installation process and warranty coverage.

IV. Payment Terms

The total cost of the project is $5,000 and the Client agrees to pay the Contractor a deposit of $1,000 upon signing this Contract, with the remaining balance of $4,000 due upon completion of the project. Payments shall be made in the following accepted forms: Cash, Check, Credit card. Late payments shall incur a late fee of $50 per day until payment is received.

V. Change Orders

For revisions or alterations to the initial scope of work to be valid and enforceable, both parties involved must provide written consent acknowledging agreement to said changes or modifications. Furthermore, any increase in costs that arise as a consequence of these change orders ought to be studied, computed, and explicitly permitted by both parties before any course of action is taken to implement these proposed changes into the existing scope of work.

VI. Insurance and Liability

The Contractor hereby assures ample liability insurance coverage for damages or injuries resulting from their actions. Additionally, workers' compensation insurance is maintained to fairly compensate individuals injured during work-related activities.

The contractor shall take responsibility for any harm, damage, or destruction to the property of the client that is a direct result of negligence or shortcomings on behalf of the contractor's employees or any subcontractors.

VII. Permits and Regulations

The contractor shall obtain any necessary permits or licenses required for the project, including but not limited to:

  • Building Permit: To ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

  • Flooring Installation License: If required by local authorities for professionals engaging in flooring installation services.

  • Environmental Permit: If the project involves any environmental considerations such as waste disposal or handling of hazardous materials.

Both parties involved in this agreement are obligated to ensure full compliance with all applicable codes and regulations set forth by the local building authorities.

VIII. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes or disagreements arising under this Contract shall be resolved through mediation or arbitration, with litigation as a last resort. The prevailing party in any dispute shall be entitled to recover reasonable attorney's fees and costs.

IX. Termination

Either party may terminate this Contract with written notice if the other party fails to cure a material breach within [3O Days] days of receiving notice of such breach. Upon termination, Client shall pay Contractor for all work performed and expenses incurred up to the date of termination.
