DJ Performance Contract

This DJ Performance Contract ("Contract") is entered into on [Date] ("Effective Date") between [Event Organizer Name], located at Jefferson Street Norfolk, VA 23510, hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer," and [DJ Name], located at Upland Avenue West Unity, OH 43570, hereinafter referred to as the "DJ," collectively referred to as the "Parties."

1. Services

1.1 The DJ agrees to provide music and entertainment services for the event(s) listed below:

  • Event Name: [Event Name]

  • Date(s) and Time(s): [Date(s) and Time(s)]

  • Venue: [Venue Name and Address]

1.2 The disc jockey will be performing for a duration that is to be specified in terms of either a certain number of hours or a given number of sets during the event.

1.3 The DJ shall arrive at the venue at least [Specify Time] hours before the scheduled start time to set up equipment and perform sound checks.

2. Compensation

2.1 In consideration for the services rendered by the DJ, the Organizer agrees to pay the DJ the sum of $[Amount] as compensation for the performance.

2.2 The payment shall be made in the following manner:

  • 50% deposit upon signing this contract, and the remaining 50% is due on the day of the event.

2.3 The individual or entity serving in the role of the Organizer is under obligation to pay back, or reimburse, any extra or additional costs that have been incurred by the person providing disc jockey services, referred to herein as the DJ.

This repayment by the Organizer is conditional and will only occur upon the DJ's presentation of valid receipts that document these additional expenses.

3. Equipment and Setup

3.1 The DJ shall provide all necessary equipment for the performance, including but not limited to:

  • DJ decks

  • Speakers

  • Microphones

  • Lighting equipment

3.2 The individual or team responsible for organizing the event is required to ensure sufficient space is allocated for the setup of the disc jockey's equipment.

In addition, they shall also make certain that ample electrical power outlets are provided to accommodate the power needs of the disc jockey's equipment.

3.3 The individual or group acting as the Organizer is mandated to thoroughly vet the facilities provided by the venue for the event.

They must ensure that these facilities do not fall short of the specific technical requirements stated by the Disc Jockey. These requirements are necessary so that the DJ can provide a seamless and optimal performance for the event attendees.

4. Performance Standards

4.1 It has been mutually decided that the Disc Jockey is expected to perform professionally and abide strictly by the playlist or music genre that has been agreed upon beforehand. The only situation in which this may change is if the Organizer gives specific instructions to the contrary during the actual event.

4.2 The Disc Jockey is under an obligation not to partake in any manner of conduct that could potentially be judged as offensive, causing undue disturbance or generally seen as inappropriate throughout their time of musical performance.

4.3 The DJ shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding the performance of music at the event venue.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

5.1 In the circumstance where there is a cancellation from either the first Party or the second Party, it is mandatory that a written notice stating the reason for the cancellation is made available to the Party that did not initiate the cancellation. This written notice must be provided within a specific period, which should not be less than [Specify Time Frame] days before the date that has been previously arranged for the event.

5.2 If the Organizer decides to cancel the event without any legitimate or justified reasoning, the DJ will have the full entitlement to keep the initial deposit. This entitlement is in recognition of the potential opportunities that the DJ might have missed out on as a result of the event's cancellation.

However, should there have been any other previously agreed-upon terms and conditions that dictate a different outcome, those would be enacted instead.

6. Indemnification

6.1 Each Party involved within this Contract is in agreement that they will take up the responsibility to indemnify, which means compensate for harm or loss and hold the other Party harmless in the event of any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses.

This agreement effectively protects each Party from any financial liabilities that could arise out of all actions or circumstances that are related to or occur during the performance and fulfillment of obligations outlined in this Contract.

7. Governing Law

7.1 The direction, interpretation, and understanding of this Contract shall be solely under the purview and jurisdiction of the laws of the specified State or Country, as mentioned within the Contract.

8. Entire Agreement

8.1 This Contract contains the entire agreement between the Parties concerning the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements and understandings, whether written or oral, relating to such subject matter.
