NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises contained herein, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the Restaurant and the Employee hereby agree as follows:
I. Purpose
The purpose of this Contract is to outline the behavioral expectations for the Employee to ensure a professional, respectful, and safe working environment. The Restaurant aims to maintain high standards of conduct to promote a positive workplace culture and enhance the overall customer experience.
II. Scope
This Contract applies to all aspects of the Employee’s conduct while on Restaurant premises and during any activities related to their employment with the Restaurant. This includes, but is not limited to, interactions with colleagues, customers, management, and the use of Restaurant property and resources.
III. Code of Conduct
A. General Conduct: The Employee agrees to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions. This includes being honest, fair, and ethical in their dealings with colleagues, customers, and management.
B. Professionalism: The Employee shall exhibit professional behavior at all times, including punctuality, reliability, and adherence to the Restaurant’s policies and procedures. The Employee shall perform their duties diligently and strive for excellence in all tasks.
C. Integrity and Honesty: The Employee is expected to act with integrity and honesty in all actions and decisions. Any form of dishonesty, including falsifying records or theft, is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
D. Respect for Colleagues and Customers: The Employee shall treat all colleagues and customers with respect and courtesy. Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior is not tolerated and will be addressed promptly.
IV. Special Behavioral Expectations
A. Attendance and Punctuality: The Employee is expected to arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and notify their supervisor at least 24 hours in advance if they are unable to attend work. Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial for maintaining a reliable and efficient workforce.
B. Personal Appearance and Uniform Standards: The Employee shall adhere to the Restaurant’s dress code and personal appearance standards. This includes wearing the designated uniform, maintaining personal hygiene, and presenting a neat and professional appearance at all times.
C. Communication Etiquette: The Employee shall communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues, customers, and management. This includes using appropriate language, listening actively, and addressing any conflicts or misunderstandings in a constructive manner.
D. Use of Restaurant Property and Resources: The Employee is responsible for using the Restaurant’s property and resources responsibly and for their intended purposes. Misuse or damage to Restaurant property may result in disciplinary action and the Employee may be held liable for any repair or replacement costs.
V. Health and Safety
A. Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations: The Employee agrees to comply with all health and safety regulations as mandated by law and the Restaurant’s policies. This includes following proper procedures for food handling, equipment use, and emergency protocols.
B. Reporting of Hazards and Incidents: The Employee shall promptly report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents to their supervisor. This ensures a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
C. Personal Hygiene Standards: The Employee is expected to maintain high standards of personal hygiene, including regular handwashing, using protective gear as required, and ensuring cleanliness in their work area. This is crucial for maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the Restaurant.
VI. Customer Service Standards
A. Quality of Service: The Employee is committed to delivering high-quality service to all customers. This includes being attentive, courteous, and responsive to customer needs and requests.
B. Handling Customer Complaints: The Employee shall handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently. Any issues that cannot be resolved promptly should be escalated to a supervisor for further action.
C. Maintaining a Positive Customer Experience: The Employee is responsible for contributing to a positive customer experience by ensuring that all interactions with customers are pleasant and satisfactory. This includes maintaining a friendly demeanor and going above and beyond to meet customer expectations.
VII. Prohibited Behaviors
A. Harassment and Discrimination: Any form of harassment or discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited. Such behavior will result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
B. Substance Abuse: The use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs or alcohol on Restaurant premises is strictly prohibited. Employees must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on duty.
C. Theft and Fraud: Theft, fraud, or any form of dishonesty, including falsifying records or misusing Restaurant property, is prohibited. Such actions will result in disciplinary action and may involve legal consequences.
D. Insubordination: Refusal to follow reasonable instructions from supervisors or management, or any form of insubordination, will not be tolerated and will result in disciplinary action.
VIII. Disciplinary Actions
