Job Summary

The Hotel Director is responsible for the efficient and profitable operation of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and high levels of employee performance. Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  1. Direct and coordinate daily hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance departments.

  2. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and ensure consistent service delivery.

  3. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue per available room (RevPAR) to identify areas for improvement.

  4. Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with brand standards and regulations.

  5. Collaborate with department heads to address operational challenges and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Guest Relations

  1. Foster a culture of exceptional guest service among staff by setting and maintaining high service standards.

  2. Implement guest feedback mechanisms such as surveys and comment cards to gauge satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

  3. Respond promptly to guest complaints and concerns, taking appropriate action to resolve issues and ensure guest satisfaction.

  4. Train staff in effective communication and conflict resolution techniques to handle guest interactions professionally and courteously.

  5. Develop and implement guest loyalty programs and special promotions to enhance guest retention and drive repeat business.

Financial Management

  1. Develop annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans in collaboration with executive management and finance department.

  2. Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasts, analyzing variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  3. Review and approve expenditures, ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints and maximizing return on investment.

  4. Identify opportunities to increase revenue through strategic pricing, upselling initiatives, and revenue management strategies.

  5. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to obtain favorable terms and pricing for goods and services.

Staff Management

  1. Recruit, hire, and train qualified individuals for key leadership positions within the hotel, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.

  2. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and coaching to staff to support their professional development.

  3. Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, teamwork, and recognition of employee contributions.

  4. Implement employee incentive programs and recognition initiatives to motivate and retain top talent.

  5. Address employee relations issues promptly and effectively, following established policies and procedures and seeking guidance from HR when necessary.

Marketing and Sales

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to drive awareness, attract target segments, and increase direct bookings.

  2. Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue opportunities for group bookings, corporate partnerships, and business travel.

  3. Utilize digital marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO) to reach and engage prospective guests.

  4. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities and threats, adjusting marketing strategies accordingly.

  5. Cultivate relationships with travel agents, online travel agencies (OTAs), and industry influencers to expand reach and generate bookings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Several years of experience in hotel management, with a proven track record of leadership and financial success.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in hotel management software and technology.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
