Key Responsibilities

Instruction

Assessment

Classroom Management

  • Create and maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.

Professional Development

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physics education and pedagogy.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in department meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student learning and development.

  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school-related events.

Additional Duties

  • Attend and contribute to faculty meetings, school events, and professional learning communities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or school administration.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Science Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Master’s degree in Education or Physics is preferred.

Certification

  • Valid state teaching certification in Physics for the appropriate grade level.

  • Certification in Secondary Education is required.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a high school setting preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to teach advanced placement (AP) physics courses is an advantage.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of physics concepts and effective teaching methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Proficiency in using educational technology and software.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

  • Capability to lift and move educational materials and equipment as necessary.
