Job Summary

The Car Rental Cashier is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients renting vehicles from [Your Company Name]. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet customers with a friendly and professional demeanor. Assist clients with rental inquiries, vehicle selection, and provide information about rental policies and procedures.

  • Transaction Processing: Process rental agreements, payments, and returns efficiently and accurately using the company’s point-of-sale system. Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and issue receipts.

  • Rental Documentation: Prepare and review rental agreements, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed and signed by the customer. Verify customer identification and driving records as required.

  • Vehicle Management: Perform vehicle check-ins and check-outs. Inspect vehicles for damage, cleanliness, and fuel levels, and document any discrepancies.

  • Account Management: Maintain accurate records of rental transactions, including returns, extensions, and cancellations. Update customer information and rental details in the system as needed.

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional manner. Escalate unresolved issues to the Branch Manager or Assistant Manager.

  • Sales and Upselling: Promote and upsell additional services, such as insurance coverage, GPS units, and car seats. Meet or exceed sales targets set by management.

  • Administrative Duties: Perform general office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, and managing rental schedules. Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and welcoming.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and legal regulations. Ensure compliance with state and federal laws related to rental agreements and vehicle operations.

  • Safety: Follow safety protocols for handling cash, operating rental vehicles, and maintaining a secure work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred. Experience in a cashier or retail position is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Basic math and cash handling skills.

    • Proficiency in using computers and point-of-sale systems.

    • Ability to multitask and handle high-stress situations.

  • Licenses: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record. (Must be able to operate rental vehicles.)

Physical Requirements
