Good morning, everyone.

Today, we gather to honor and commemorate the bravery, sacrifices, and patriotism of our national heroes. As we stand before our flag, a symbol of our nation's sovereignty and pride, we are reminded of the countless men and women who fought valiantly for the freedom and independence we enjoy today.

National Heroes Day is a time to reflect on the indomitable spirit of our forefathers, who, despite the tremendous odds, stood firm against colonial powers and oppression. Figures like Dr. Jose Rizal, whose writings and martyrdom ignited the flame of revolution, and Andres Bonifacio, who bravely led the Katipunan in the fight for independence, are etched in our collective memory as symbols of unwavering patriotism and courage.

But today is not just about remembering the well-known heroes. It is also about honoring the countless unnamed and unsung heroes who, with steadfast resolve, contributed to the cause of freedom. Women like Gabriela Silang and Melchora Aquino played indispensable roles in our fight for freedom, exemplifying the strength and resilience of Filipinas.
