Position Overview

The Physical Therapy Receptionist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and administrative support in a professional medical environment. This role serves as the initial point of contact for patients, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with billing and insurance processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-desk experience.

  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the calendar to optimize therapists' time.

  • Answer and direct phone calls, providing information and assistance as needed.

  • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Assist with billing processes, including collecting co-pays, processing insurance claims, and following up on outstanding balances.

  • Coordinate with physical therapists and other staff to ensure smooth operation and high-quality patient care.

  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and ordering office supplies.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.

  • Previous experience in a medical or therapy office setting is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.

  • Proficiency with office software (e.g., MS Office Suite) and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes is a plus.


Working Conditions
