PTO Bylaws
Article I: Name
The name of this organization shall be the [YOUR COMPANY NAME], hereinafter referred to as the "Organization."
Article II: Purpose
The purpose of the Organization shall be to:

Foster a positive and collaborative relationship between parents, teachers, and the school community.

Support and enhance the educational experience of the students at Maplewood Elementary School.

Raise funds to provide resources and programs that benefit the students and staff.

Encourage parent involvement in school activities and decision-making processes.
Article III: Membership
Section 1: Eligibility
Membership shall be open to all parents and guardians of students enrolled at Maplewood Elementary School and all teachers and staff at the school.
Section 2: Dues
Membership dues shall be set at $20 per family per academic year, as determined by the Executive Board and reviewed annually.
Article IV: Meetings
Section 1: Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of the Organization shall be held on the first Tuesday of each month during the academic year, at 6:30 PM in the school library.
Section 2: Special Meetings
Special meetings may be called by the President or a majority of the Executive Board. Notice of such meetings shall be given at least 48 hours in advance.
Section 3: Quorum
A quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting shall consist of at least one-third of the members present.
Article V: Officers
Section 1: Executive Board
The Executive Board shall consist of the following officers:

Section 2: Election and Term
Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present at the annual meeting and shall serve for a term of one year. Officers may be re-elected for consecutive terms.
Section 3: Duties

President: Shall preside over meetings, represent the Organization at school events, and ensure the Organization fulfills its purpose.

Vice President: Shall assist the President and assume the President's responsibilities in their absence.

Secretary: Shall keep accurate records of all meetings, handle correspondence, and maintain membership lists.

Treasurer: Shall manage the Organization's finances, prepare an annual budget, and provide financial reports to the membership.
Article VI: Committees
Section 1: Formation
The Executive Board may establish committees as needed to carry out the work of the Organization.
Section 2: Committee Chairs
Committee chairs shall be appointed by the Executive Board and shall report on their activities at regular meetings.
Article VII: Amendments
These Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members present at any regular meeting, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given at least one meeting prior to the vote.
Article VIII: Dissolution
In the event of dissolution of the Organization, any remaining assets shall be distributed to the Maplewood School District, in accordance with the applicable laws of the State of California.
