Dear Elmwood University Community,

As part of maintaining a positive and professional learning environment, we would like to remind everyone of the university's dress code policy, which applies to all students, faculty, and staff. The goal of this policy is to ensure that everyone presents themselves in a manner that is respectful of the university's values and conducive to an academic atmosphere.

General Guidelines:

    • Collared shirts, blouses, skirts, slacks, dresses, and blazers for formal occasions or presentations.

    • T-shirts, jeans, and casual attire are acceptable in certain casual settings, but they should be free from offensive or inappropriate graphics and text.

  2. Footwear: Shoes should be clean, comfortable, and appropriate. Athletic shoes, sandals, flip-flops, or slippers are not allowed during formal university events or classroom settings.

  3. Inappropriate Clothing: The following are prohibited:

    • Clothing with offensive language, graphics, or symbols.

    • Distressed or ripped clothing.

    • Inappropriate exposure of body parts (e.g., excessive shortness of shorts, bare midriffs).

  4. Special Events: For university events, ceremonies, and presentations, attendees are expected to wear business casual or formal attire. Specific dress codes for such events will be communicated in advance.

We ask for your cooperation in adhering to this dress code policy to maintain the integrity and professionalism of our academic environment. Non-compliance with the dress code may result in being asked to change attire or being excluded from certain academic activities. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Sincerely,
