CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chief Marketing Officer is responsible for supervising the organization’s marketing initiatives and the implementation of marketing strategies. This position is in charge of developing various key areas of sales and marketing including product development, distribution channels, sale management and marketing communications (e.g market research, advertising campaigns, promotions, product or service pricing, press releases and customer service).

Duties and Responsibilities

The Chief Marketing Officer carries out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversees the organization’s reputation    
  • Ensures sales and marketing strategies are properly implemented    
  • Manages the design and development of new products.    
  • Increases company’s revenue
  • Finds new ways to generate or retain income
  • Creates programs with measurable goals and objectives to predict outcomes
  • Manages the budget of the marketing team, division or department             
  • Mitigates the marketing team, division or department’s operational risks
  • Directs the marketing team, division or department in the development of competitive analysis, market intelligence or segmentation reports, getting more prospects, generating leads, developing products, formulating prices, promotional activities, attaining sales efficiency, strategic planning and determining service units     
  • Implements and manages marketing budget
  • Drives insights in accordance with acquired or supplied data and analytics     
  • Modifies, restructures or takes charge of business intelligence strategy
  • Responsible for the development of product guides and roadmaps
  • Develops key metrics in order to gauge success in the following business areas: conversion rates, customer engagement, customer satisfaction and renewal and acquiring new customers.
  • Implements a comprehensive marketing plan outlining the organization’s overall marketing strategy and other marketing strategies
