COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

The Compensation and Benefits Manager is responsible for supervising the compensation and benefits section or division of any organization. This position includes duties like implementing compensation systems within the organization and assesses job positions to provide a proper categorization for job types and determine the appropriate salary range. He provides insurance plans, pension benefits and savings program and closely works with insurance agents, representatives and brokers.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Compensation and Benefits Manager undertakes the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develops, supervises and implements programs for classifying job positions and employee compensation and benefits
  • Analyzes data pertaining to compensation and benefits within the organization
  • Develops new recruitment and retention procedures or practices to improve existing recruitment and retention system
  • Provides specific job descriptions and salary scales for the benefit of employees and addresses overlapping duties and salary concerns
  • With the approval of the management, develops an appropriate base pay for employees     
  • Ensures that different labor force requirements are in accordance with existing laws, statutes, rules and regulations
  • Defines the structural and working relationships between and among job and occupational trends
  • Outlines a comprehensive organizational chart
  • Provides counsel to employees who have issues or concerns with national or local labor laws, statutes, rules or regulations, existing benefits and compensation policies, job classification, incentive programs and company promotion
