Step 1: Add Contacts’ Birthdays to Your Google Calendar
Adding a user to your Google Contacts page automatically syncs their birthday to your Google Calendar. To add a contact, open the Google site main page and select the Contacts icon in the Google Apps menu (upper right corner). Use the “Create contact” option in the upper left corner to add one or more users to your Google Contacts.

Step 2: Hide Birthdays in Your Google Calendar
First, go to your Google Calendar main page. To hide birthdays in the calendar field, expand the “My Calendars” list by clicking on the label, then click on Contacts in the list to uncheck it. To hide the Birthdays calendar from your list, open the calendar’s options list next to it and select the “Hide from list” option.

Step 3: Assign a Specific Color to Birthday Events in Google Calendar
On your Google Calendar main page, locate the Contacts calendar under the “My calendars” list in the left panel. Open the calendar’s options menu and select your desired color from the popup. To choose a custom color, click on the plus (+) icon at the bottom of the popup and use the window that appears to set your preferred color.
