How to Grade Assignments In Google Classroom
Google Classroom has features that make it seamless for you to grade student assignments anytime. Just review this short article on how to grade assignments in Google Classroom properly.

Step 1: Sign In With Your Google Account
Sign in using your authorized G Suite or personal Google account to access Google Classroom on your browser or app. If you do not have an account yet, you can create an account first or ask your school’s Google Classroom administrator or teacher to give you a teacher’s account.

Step 2: Go to the Grades Tab
To start your task, locate the Grades tab on top of your screen which is beside the People tab. In the Grades tab, you will see the roster of students under your class. Just beside it, you will see a list of assignments that are due to be graded.

Step 3: Click The Assignment That You Want To Grade
Besides the names of the students is the row of assignments which they have submitted. Click on the assignment that you want to grade to review the contents before giving the final grades. You can manually give grades by clicking the box under the assignment or by going to Student’s work tab. If the student has not submitted their work yet, the grades you give will be projected as a draft. -
Step 4: Return the Assignment
After grading the submission of your students, click Return, Return this Submission and Return consecutively. Repeat the steps when grading your students individually.
Can a co-teacher grade a class submission?
Only if they have permission to do so. Technically, only primary teachers are allowed to grade student submissions.
I can’t grade submissions using my mobile. What should I do?
If you cannot grade any assignments with the use of your mobile or another gadget, there might be some technical problems on the back end of Google Classroom. If you are a co-teacher though, you might have been restricted. Mobile app problems should be reported directly to avoid delays in activity.
Can I grade a student without their submission?
Yes, you still can give a grade to a student without their submissions. However, the grade will appear as a draft.
