Tarpaulin Sizes Standard

72 Inches × 36 Inches (6 Feet × 3 Feet)

The common and universal tarp size is the 6 × 3 feet tarp. In inches, it measures 72 inches × 36 inches. The great thing about tarpaulins is that they are versatile and if your supplier can accommodate your size preferences, the tarp can be customized to fit your specific needs.

48 Inches × 24 Inches (4 Feet × 2 Feet)

A slightly smaller tarpaulin size is the 4 × 2 feet tarp. Its dimensions in inches are 48 inches × 24 inches. These may be used for all kinds of occasions and events such as birthdays, anniversaries, seminars, etc.

96 Inches × 48 Inches (8 Feet × 4 Feet)

Another common tarp size is the 8 × 4 feet tarp. This standard size measures 96 × 48 inches. They can make excellent service or product advertisements and can be hung essentially anywhere.

Tarpaulin Sizes for Digital

It is common practice to have tarpaulins digitally printed. It is not only quick and convenient, but it is also very cost-effective. But tarps can also be digital and can be used as online banners, streamers, etc. You obviously have the option not to print a digitally designed tarp. Still, you want to ensure the highest quality image or resolution even if it’s digital. A size of 72 PPI or pixels per inch should be good enough. However, note that you need to adjust the pixels accordingly to meet the size needs of your tarp.

There are literally dozens of tarp sizes that are usually custom-made according to individual customer needs and preferences. When it comes to tarp printing, sizes can range from a small-sized tarp of 5 × 7 feet to large and heavy-duty tarps measuring 170× 170 feet. But tarpaulins that are commonly used in events and advertising have standard dimensions of 6 × 3 feet, 4 × 2 feet, or 8 × 4 feet.

For business, sales, marketing, or advertising purposes, tarpaulins are the go-to material because they are durable, versatile, and water-resistant. If you own or operate a business or establishment, you can use any of the standard tarp sizes but one good option is a 9 × 6 feet tarp or 108 × 72 inches; a 12 × 9 feet tarp or 144 × 108 inches is slightly bigger and is another great alternative. Again, it all depends on individual preferences and customer needs.

Tarpaulin Sizes for Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a popular graphic design application that can be utilized to design a customized tarpaulin. A safe size to use is 8 × 10 inches, but of course, you can adjust it as needed. Make sure to set the color mode to RGB Color as well. If you do use Photoshop, the recommended pixel size for a tarp is at least 300 pixels to ensure a high-quality resolution.

Another popular alternative to Adobe Photoshop is Adobe Illustrator. The design application is an excellent tool for creating and customizing tarpaulins as well. And since the app is similar to Photoshop, the size and pixels are pretty much the same. The recommended requirements range from 100 to 300 PPI or pixels per inch. This should be enough to produce a good-quality image for tarpaulin printing.
