What Is the Purpose of a Planner?
A planner is one of the best ways to help you keep track of all the tasks that you need to complete and whatever goals that you need to achieve. There are some who even use their planners as a professional checklist that tells them what they've already done and when they managed to do it. If used effectively, it can be a great tool for improving one's productivity and for learning how to handle one's time effectively and efficiently.
How to Create Planners in PSD
1. Use a Planner Template
The most effective and efficient way to make any kind of planner or tracker is by using a template. When opening Adobe Photoshop, click on the New Document option and you will see categories such as Photo, Print, Art & Illustration, etc. Select a category and search for the planner template that you need. You can click on "See Preview" if you want an idea of how it looks like before you start editing. If you've made your choice, simply click on "Download" and once it's done downloading, click "Open".
2. Know What Your Planner Should Cover
You won't be able to start working on it if you don't have the slightest clue on what it should contain. Think about why you even need a planner in the first place. It is to help you with your daily, weekly, or even monthly tasks? What specific objectives or goals do you need to be able to achieve? These are the sort of questions that you'll need to find the answer to in order to make a proper planner.
3. Add Some Shapes and Color
If you're going to start from scratch, then you'll definitely need to learn how to do this. It's best that you create separate boxes for tasks that fall on different days and you'll want to provide each one with its own color code to know when they have to be done. To make boxes, click on the shape tool and select the Square Shaped tool. Click and drag until you have the size you want. You'll then want to create layers for each box by simply selecting the Layers panel and adding what you need. As for color, you simply need to edit the layer and choose what you want to go with.
4. Put In What Your Planner Needs
Now all you have to do is to put in all the information that your planner should display. Start by pointing out the days or dates that it needs to be able to cover. Then you may move on to typing in each task that needs to be done. It is important that each one you list down contains a short but detailed description. This is to ensure that those who need to do them are able to do so as expected. If you like, you can even put in the exact time in which each task has to be started and finished.
