As a Law Enforcement Victim Advocate, you will play an integral role, in providing emotional support and assistance to victims of crime and guiding them through legal processes.
Qualifications and Skills

A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.

The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is imperative.

An understanding of state and federal laws relating to victims' rights is preferred.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, a strong sense of empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are critical.
Responsibilities and Duties

Provide emotional support and assistance to victims of crime, guiding them through their legal processes.

Serve as a liaison between victims, law enforcement, and legal entities, ensuring effective communication.

Assessing the needs of victims, referring them to appropriate agencies for support, and accompanying them to court proceedings, as needed.
Experience
At least two years of working experience in a victim advocacy role is preferable. Experience in crisis management and familiarity with community resources is beneficial. Understanding the legal processes involved in crimes is also necessary.
Additional Requirements
Candidates may be required to undergo rigorous background checks due to the sensitive nature of the work. Being able to work flexibly, including nights and weekends, is key.
