Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team at [Your Company Name]. Key Responsibilities

  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

    • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  3. Compliance and Audits:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

    • Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.

    • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure adherence to tax regulations.

  4. Accounts Management:

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

    • Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts and transactions.

    • Process payroll, including calculating wages, benefits, and deductions.

  5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.

    • Provide financial analysis and support for budgeting decisions and strategic planning.

    • Track expenses and financial performance against budgetary targets.

  6. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in financial operations.

    • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard assets.

    • Stay updated with changes in accounting standards and best practices.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.

  • Experience: Years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services sector.

Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Compliance: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).

  • Other: Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment; adaptability to changing priorities and business needs.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industry-specific accounting practices, such as regulatory compliance for financial services.

  • Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (e.g., MBA, MS in Accounting).

  • Additional certifications or training related to financial analysis, auditing, or compliance.


Work Environment

  • The position is based in our New York, NY office, with potential options for remote work or flexible scheduling based on performance and company policy.

  • Standard office environment with occasional requirements for overtime during peak periods.
